KIMCHEE PRODUCTION FACILITY RIBBON CUTTING

After a year-long process, I have just completed building a 2,300-square-foot kimchee production facility in Mechanicsburg, where Kimchee Girl is now being made. The Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce hosted the offical ribbon cutting on May 17, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at my new facility, which is located at 6 W Allen Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Kimchee Girl is vegan, gluten-free, probiotic-rich, and all-natural kimchee. It is currently sold online at www.kimcheegirl.com and is available at specialty stores throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Allow me to share a bit of my personal journey... I'm a proud, first-generation American, born to parents who legally immigrated from Seoul, South Korea, to the United States in the early 1970s. Our family was among the first to settle in Central Pennsylvania from South Korea. As the youngest of five children and the only one born in the United States, I've always cherished my Korean heritage and its cuisine.

I started making kimchee because I missed my mom, who lost her battle with cancer in 2013.

I've been unhappy with the supermarket kimchee and the minimal Korean restaurants in my area. Starting Kimchee Girl is my way of sharing my family's kimchee, but it is also my way of remembering and honoring my mom and dad.
